Overview

Why It's Special

The Norwegian flag has been in continuous use since 1821, one of the older national flags still in use today. The lion on the sleeve is the lion of St. Olav, a symbol present in Norwegian heraldry since the 13th century and the same lion that appears on the national coat of arms. Norway has one of the more quietly passionate football cultures in Europe — a country that produced Erling Haaland and still manages to make qualification feel like an event worth celebrating.
